As I write this article, my Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra vacuum is roaming around the kitchen picking up dust and mopping the floors. All I had to do was tell my Google Nest Audio to “clean the house,” and off it went, while I continued frantically tapping keys at my desk. Did I empty its dust bin or attach its mop or fill its water compartment before doing that? No. Did I do any of that in the past week? Hah, of course not! I didn’t touch it at all in 10 days because that’s the beauty of the all-singing all-dancing Ultra dock. It does everything. E.ve.ry.thin.g.
I didn’t buy this particular unit, it was sent to me for testing about seven months ago by Roborock — perks of the job, eh? But if I were on the lookout for a robot vacuum or a Black Friday 2022 deal today, this would be an instant buy for me. No questions asked. It is worth every one of its 105,999-penny ($1059,99) price. Yes, it costs as much as a used car, even discounted, but it is life-changing.

I’ve already given the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra a glowing review and shared my positive six-months feedback, and my position hasn’t changed since then. This is the smartest and most autonomous robot vacuum you can get now because it vacuums, mops, has excellent object detection, raises its mop when it goes on carpets, and talks to Google Assistant and Alexa. The Ultra dock drastically reduces daily maintenance by emptying the dust bin, filling the water tank, cleaning the mop, and collecting the dirty water. It is even floof-tested and approved.
For a small one-bedroom apartment like ours, I do less than 10 minutes of maintenance every 10-14 days; I fill the dock’s clean water, empty its dirty water, and dust the robot’s sensors. And every month, I spend about 20 minutes cleaning the brushes and various filters and nooks in the robot or its dock. That’s it. For 40-50 minutes of work per month, I have 24/7 clean floors around my apartment. I can walk barefoot, welcome guests at any moment, and go on vacation and come back to a clean home. For someone like me who innately spots every dust speck and particle on every surface but is too lazy to clean them daily, this is a lifesaver.
Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra
The most autonomous robot vacuum yet • Accurate mapping and obstacle avoidance • Excellent cleaning and mopping
Roborock threw everything and the kitchen sink in (after cleaning it thoroughly, of course).
The Roborock S7 MaxV is Roborock’s most complete robot vacuum so far. It gets the S7’s VibraRise mop and sonic cleaning, plus the S6 MaxV’s dual-camera setup for accurate obstacle avoidance. The Ultra model ships with a do-it-all dock that empties the dust bin, cleans the mop, and absorbs dirty water. All of this comes at a whopping $1,399 price, but if you want the best no matter the cost, this is it.
